Need to keep moving? You bettcha! Our Bulverde Senior Center offers a wide variety of fitness opportunities. For a monthly fee of only $30 members can experience classes in Easy Pace Aerobics, Chair Yoga, Zumba, Yoga Flow, B.A.T.H. ( Buns/Abs, Thighs, & Hips) Restorative Yoga and Level II Yoga in addition to freedom to work out in the gym which houses a number of hydraulic machines, adjustable to five different settings, a treadmill and stationary bike. Due to a generous grant received by the McKenna Foundation, the classes are made possible at such a low fee. Members who choose to only use the gym come in at a bargain price of $20 per month.

Personally, I most enjoy working out in the gym. In my retirement lifestyle, I like to take advantage of the freedom of little or no schedules. I can pop in the gym between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to exercise at my own pace for as long as I wish. If I want to use one of the yoga or Pilates DVD’s in the gym, I try to find a time when few others are working out and can add to the strength building regime in addition to the standard work out on machines.

The staff is friendly, and along with the instructors, is most helpful for new members to develop skills and find ease in learning the proper techniques of exercise for one’s own capabilities.

Add good nutrition to your overall health and well-being by coming for lunch (11:30) on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. A suggested donation of only $3 will provide you a warm, nutritious and well-balanced meal. There are new friends to meet just inside our doors; come and join us.
